FHC Verdict : Ogun East PDP women congratulate Bamgbose-led Exco, reaffirm confidence in Kashamu's leadership

Women of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun east senatorial district of Ogun State had on Wednesday, 22nd of July, 2020, congratulated the Samson Bamgbose-led State Exco of the Party on its victory at the Federal High Court, Abuja.

The Senatorial Women leader, Alh. Bukky Adekunle described the judgement as a victory for all, urging all aggrieved to work hand in hand for a better PDP in the State.

'Sequel upon the judgement granted in Abuja on Tuesday, which further affirmed the authenticity of the Bamgbose-led Exco, I wish to congratulate the State, Senatorial, local government, ward executives and indeed all members of the party in Ogun State. Nobody lost. It's a victory for all.

Power tussle has been part of politics since its inception. We are one indivisible family and for this singular fact, I am appealing to the aggrieved members to join hands with us so we can move the party forward. The love of the party should supersede whatever grievance we may hold and there's no better way to show love for one's party than working for its progress', she said.

She however commended the judiciary for a justice well served, noting that the development is a pointer to the fact that the trust and confidence reposed in the judiciary has not been betrayed.

'I wish to commend the judiciary for conveying justice and not allowing itself to he compromised. I am particularly proud of the manner in which the case is addressed with no iota of compromise'.

Alhaja Radiant as fondly called was full of praise for the Senator representing Ogun east senatorial district (2015 - 2019), Prince Buruji Kashamu for his resilience and doggedness in fighting for justice at all times. She described him as a political saviour who is 'too defended to be defeated'.  She maintained that PDP women in the senatorial district are totally satisfied with his style of leadership which has helped to curb impunity in the party.

Recall that the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, rejected the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Headquarters' suit challenging the powers of the Ogun State chapter of the party to conduct party Congresses in the State.  While delivering his judgement, Justice Ahmed Mohammed held that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the case on merit and consequently dismissed it.
