Eid-el-Kabir : DRE urges Muslims to be committed to the tenets of Islam
The Founder of DMB FOUNDATION which is deep-rooted in helping to alleviate poverty and impact the lives of the downtrodden in Sagamu, Omooba Damilare Bello (DRE) has conveyed his hearty felicitations to Muslims on the occasion of this year's Eid el Kabir.
In a message issued by his DG, Prince Adebowale Animashaun, Bello urged the people to show love to one another so as to reflect the occasion of Sallah. He also implored them to be worthy ambassadors of the Islamic faith and do away with whatever can put the religion on the path of retrogression.
The statement reads in part, 'I am happy to celebrate with my fellow adherents of the Islamic faith. We have a whole lot to be thankful for. Despite that this year has been ravaged by the COVID-19 pandemic, we survived it and today, we have the uncommon grace to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir among the living souls. I commiserate with those who have lost their loves to the dreadful disease and pray for quick and full recovery for those who are still battling with it.
So far, we must have learnt to always take our case to Almighty Allah and be fervent in prayer even in the face of hardship. I enjoin people not to despair in the midst of the challenges'.
Speaking further, he implored Nigerian Muslims to renew their commitment to the tenets of Islam so that they could maintain the high ethical standards of honesty, faithfulness, discipline, contentment and sacrifice to enable them contribute meaningfully to the peace, prosperity and progress of particularly, their immediate community.
'As we celebrate this year's Eid-el-Kabir, it is good that we extend our kind gesture to the downtrodden who cannot afford to celebrate this festival in their homes. That's one of the teachings of the Holy Prophet. These are things that would continually commit us to the tenets of Islam. May we celebrate many more of this on earth and in good health', he prayed.
