Image
The Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) Ogun State Chapter, has reassured the State government of renewed efforts and vigour towards making Okada riders in the State to strictly adhere to the orders put in place by government and health authorities to curtail and contain the spread of coronavirus.    In a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary of the Union, Taofeek Sokoya, he emphasised that the Union will allow zero tolerance for violation of the orders, noting that the battle would be fought collectively.    'We wish to appeal to our amiable State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on the obvious violation of government orders by the Okada riders. There is no sane human being or reputable organisation that would be glad with such worrisome development.    We assure the government that the three motorcycle unions in Ogun State (ACOMORAN, AMORAN and ROMO) are ready to work hand-in-hand in order to achieve the ...

Leadership roles and creating a formidable platform for the rising youths

Image
While nosing for prepared, determined and well-groomed 'future leaders', our team met with Comrade Raimi Adedamola Rilwan, a 300L student of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU).    For too long, various individuals have given different definitions of Leadership, especially as it occurs to them.  Some people defined leadership as both a research area and a practical skill which encompasses the ability of an individual or organization to 'lead' or guide other individuals, teams or entire organizations, others simply described leadership as the art of motivating a group of people to act towards achieving a common goal.   Candidly, these definitions capture the essentials of being able and prepared to inspire others as effective leadership is based upon ideas (whether original or borrowed) but won't happen unless those ideas can be communicated to others in a way that engages them enough to act as the leader wants them to act.  Today, the princ...

...says Democracy has come to stay in the country. The Articulate Motorcycle Riders and Owners Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) has felicitated with the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun and indeed, the good people of the gateway State on the occasion of this year's June 12. Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari declared June 12 as the Democracy Day against the initial May 29.  This was in recognition of the role the annulled winner of the 1993 election, Bashorun M.K.O Abiola played in bringing back the nation to civilian rule and his death was in the struggle as he was unable to compromise the wish of people on the corridors of power. In a statement issued in Abeokuta on Friday, the Publicity Secretary of the union, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya said democracy has come to stay in the country.   "Just as we commemorate the June 12 today, we wish to convey warm felicitations to our amiable Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the good people of Ogun State. The birth of a prodigy : Celebrating Gbadamosi Adedamola @Six

Image
God has ordained every purpose in life to start as a 'baby', grow into 'maturity' until it is finally set for exploits. There is absolutely no precious thing that begins in its fullness. It all starts as a seed and with persistent pursuit, it explodes into that great thing which God destined it to be.    Such is the birth of human and the significance attached to it. One can not overemphasize the joy of couples whenever they welcome a baby. It brings joy, happiness and celebration. People from far and wide come to pay due homage to the arrival of the new born baby.  However, the greatest joy lies in the growth of the baby. Nothing soothes the heart of a parent than seeing their child grow into exactly what they projected.     Gbadamosi Ghaleeb Adedamola Obatomiwa is the second of the two wonderful children granted to Mr and Mrs Gbadamosi and the joy which accompanied his birth is immeasurable, hence, none of his birthday goes u...

Muibi Opeyemi - A symbol of focus and determination

Image
It is no gainsaying that an average undergraduate in Nigeria finds it really difficult to survive on campus. The battle for survival had thrown a whole lot of youths to the streets with each gender engaging in one absurdity or the other.  This alone is capable of totally shifting the focus of a student from his/her primary aim of being in School. Despite that, some people will rather work hard legitimately to make money. During the week, our correspondent came across a young man in his early 20s, identified as Muibi Opeyemi who alongside his academics, is into foot wear business.   Today, most tertiary institutions harbour below-par scholars who have occupied themselves with one aside job or the other, thereby creating little or no time for study. This is not disconnected from the fact that students now divert their focus and determination on doing things that fetch them money to live good on campus, hence, neglecting their primary aim. In essence, only a few ...
