Ogun: Akinlade snubs Ilaro monarch, files notice of appeal at Supreme Court

CANDIDATE of the Allied People Movement (APM), in the 2019 governorship election in Ogun State, Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade, over the weekend filed a notice of appeal at the Supreme Court to challenge the judgment of the election petition tribunal. The appeal will also challenge the ruling of the Court of Appeal which validated the election of the governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun. He revealed this in a statement signed by his media aide, Azeez Adelani, a copy of which was made available to the Tribune Online on Sunday. Akinlade said: “My resolve to see this struggle to a logical conclusion hinged on the constitutionality of our actions and the need to truly represent the wish of the people who came out in their thousands on the 9th of March, 2019 to vote for me.” Akinlade noted that it is not about his personal ambition but a call to duty and honour. Ilaro monarch asks Akinlade to withdraw suit from S'Court

The Olu of Ilaro and paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde  Olugbenle, has urged the  governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement  in Ogun State,  Adekunle Akinlade, to withdraw his case at the Supreme Court . The first class monarch also asked Akinlade to settle with the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, and  join hands with him  for the progress of the state. . Bayelsa, Kogi Polls : We'll reform our party, says PDP

  In an interview, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, on Saturday said the reforms would involve membership drive and an overhaul of the party’s workings. During the governorship elections, the PDP candidate in Kogi State, Mr Musa Wada, lost to the APC’s and incumbent governor, Mr Yahaya Bello, while in Bayelsa State, the PDP candidate, Mr Douye Diri, also lost to the APC’s, Mr David Lyon.  Also, the PDP candidate at the 2019 presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, recently lost to the APC’s President Muhammadu Buhari at both the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal and the Supreme Court. Following the losses, Ologbondiyan said, “There will be reforms in the party, starting from membership drive and also an overhaul of the internal workings of the party. “We would see how we can prepare ahead of future elections. A newly opened restaurant within the city limits is boasting the nation’s first license to serve human flesh on the menu. Gateman, Neighbor Allegedly Kill 26-Yr-Old Man For Buying New Car In Lagos

Segun Afolabi, a 26-year-old Financial Analyst and ex-president of the Nigerian Economics Students Association, Covenant University, A native of Oke Agbo ije igbo has been murdered by his gateman and his neighbor who had interest in the car he bought about a week ago.  The incident happened on Monday, November 4, 2019, at his residence in Gbagada, Lagos State. It was gathered that the suspects, after killing Mr. Afolabi, wrapped him up with his duvet and put him in the boot of his own car.  They then drove the car to the front of Gbagada General hospital, where they dumped his corpse and drove off. The gateman later sent his wife to Afolabi’s house to steal all the remaining valuables there. However, the duo ran out of luck after they were flagged down at a police checkpoint in Edo State on Tuesday morning and arrested.
