JUNE 12 : AMORAN conveys goodwill message to Prince Dapo Abiodun and the entire people of the gateway State

...says Democracy has come to stay in the country.

The Articulate Motorcycle Riders and Owners Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) has felicitated with the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun and indeed, the good people of the gateway State on the occasion of this year's June 12.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari declared June 12 as the Democracy Day against the initial May 29.

This was in recognition of the role the annulled winner of the 1993 election, Bashorun M.K.O Abiola played in bringing back the nation to civilian rule and his death was in the struggle as he was unable to compromise the wish of people on the corridors of power.

In a statement issued in Abeokuta on Friday, the Publicity Secretary of the union, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya said democracy has come to stay in the country.

"Just as we commemorate the June 12 today, we wish to convey warm felicitations to our amiable Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the good people of Ogun State. There is no doubt that the Martyr, M K O Abiola has left a legacy which may never be beaten in many years to come.  Also, we wish to commend the President Buhari-led administration for giving this day such a recognition and glamour. As it stands, the good name and deeds of Moshood Kashimawo Abiola will ring bell for years.

His sacrifice has paved way for the entrenchment of democratic process in the Country and this is notable and as such, democracy has come to stay", Otunba Sokoya stated.

He further noted that the principles of democracy have been playing out with it's impact been greatly felt in the country over the years.
