Eid-el-Fitr : DRE urges Muslims to emulate the teachings of the Holy Prophet*

As Muslims across the globe gather to celebrate the 2020 Eid-el-Fitr, Omooba Damilare Bello has sent his goodwill message to commemorate the day.

DRE, as fondly called by friends and political associates, asked the Muslim faithfuls to emulate the virtues of Prophet Muhammad as they celebrate Eid Fitr. In a statement issued by his media team, he enjoined them to use the period to offer prayers for peace, unity, prosperity and victory over the coronavirus pandemic which portends to take the nation to a standstill.

The statement reads in part, "I congratulate my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters on the completion of the 30-day fasting and prayer. I also wish to enjoin them to put into practices, the lessons learnt during the Ramadan period and to love and to share with the less privileged in the society as exemplified by the Holy Prophet. As a people, if we uphold and practise the teachings from our holy books, peace and tranquility would reign in the society".

He further urged Nigerians to ensure staying safe as they celebrate, urging them to be prayerful for the country to win her battle against COVID-19.

" As we celebrate, we must still remember to stay safe. Most importantly, we must pay strict compliance to the pray at home order announced by the government. Finally, we should all use the occasion to cry out to Almighty Allah to grant us victory against the disease", he said.
